Frontier Pitts HVM Terra Shallow Blockers Protect Dublin Port Primary Border Inspection Post
Dublin Port is the largest freight and passenger port in Ireland with all cargo handling activities being carried out by private sector companies operating in intensely competitive markets within the Port.
Security requirements included the need to mitigate the terrorist threat and control access to authorised vehicle whilst ensuring the venue is functional and the public feel safe.
Frontier Pitts HVM (Hostile Vehicle Mitigation) Terra Shallow Blockers were installed behind the Primary Border Inspection Post’s traffic control to provide CT (counter terrorist) protection in the event of vehicle attack.
The Terra Shallow Blocker is the latest model of HVM Terra Blocker, manufactured and tested with Shallow Mount Technology, successfully impact tested to the new International IWA 14 specification stopping a 7.2t vehicle travelling at 80kph (50mph). The test resulted in the vehicle being stopped with zero penetration.
The Terra Shallow Blocker has quickly become our most popular model of HVM Blocker. As a foundation type B, With an embedment depth of only 300mm required (foundation depth 500mm, foundation type B), the Shallow HVM Blocker offers protection to sites where minimal foundation depths are available due to underground utilities and services.
