An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled & experienced Mechanical Design Engineer based at our Crawley HQ.

Overview
The role involves utilising AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to produce quality mechanical designs within time and budget constraints. You will gain knowledge of drawing standards and how to “translate” design into the manufacturing process. You will also create accurate design calculations on welded steel structures. Thus, a willingness to get your hands dirty is essential.

Preferable Skills/Qualifications

  • Min. 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering including steel structures and driving systems
  • Excellent computer literacy, using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, MS Excel
  • Proficiency in both static and dynamic mechanical calculations performed on steel structures, including wind loadings and stress analysis
  • Knowledge of the engineering design process and working to ISO 9001
  • Ability to work independently as well as within the team
  • An ability to think commercially as well as technically
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Good eye on detail

Desired attributes:

  • A basic level of computer programming in Inventor iLogic
  • Experience using Inventor fx parameters
  • Experience using basic hand tools and participation in engineering related hobbies

Full training will be provided to participate in design projects including liaising with other departments and members of the design team.

Technical Sales Consultant – South West

Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Technical Sales Consultant for the South West of England. This position will suit a highly motivated individual with experience in the automatic gate, barrier or bollard industry, the job description is outlined below.

JOB PURPOSE
To raise awareness of Company products generally, and to maintain existing customers and generate new business sales within a given territory and comply with full reporting procedures back to Head Office at all times. You may also be required to represent the Company at trade shows, exhibitions, and other events at the company’s discretion. These may be in the UK or may be abroad. You may be required to perform such other and/or additional duties within your skill and competence as the Business may require.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To plan and execute a growth strategy for the given sales territory by means of personal, face to face, meetings and verbal and written communication
  • To maintain and develop relationships with existing clients, and to increase business through these channels
  • To identify and progress new sales opportunities using all available resources (such as word of mouth, leads from Head Office and colleagues, visual identification during daily travel, attendance at shows and exhibitions and from printed and electronic sources)
  • To meet, as a minimum, sales and new account targets as set by Sales Director
  • To monitor competitor activity (promotions, pricing, new products etc.) and report to Head Office as appropriate
  • To process and deliver routine paperwork from Head Office and maintain accurate and effective records and reports as necessary, including forecasts of expected orders
  • To process customer quotes in an effective and timely manner
  • To work from office at least once per month
  • To attend and staff shows and exhibitions upon request
  • To keep abreast of the latest products and disseminate this information to clients as appropriate
  • To achieve, sustain and exceed sales targets

NATURE AND SCOPE
The person appointed will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, pro-active and organised, with a strong customer focus and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. The individual should have an interest in gate automation, access control, barriers, fixings and associated perimeter security equipment. It is a varied role, and the post holder will demonstrate an ability to multitask calmly and efficiently within a busy and demanding environment.

KEY SKILLS

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience within a similar role

The working hours are 8.30am- 5.00pm. However, you will be required to work such hours as is necessary to carry out the role.

Role: Fitters

Job description

Due to our fast expanding business, Frontier Pitts is looking for multiple Fitters to be based at our Crawley HQ to work on high security Gates, Barriers, Bollard, Blockers and Turnstiles.

The Fitters are responsible for the final assembly of the Security Equipment in accordance to assembly drawings issued by the Drawing Office.

  • Collate materials required to complete Bespoke Product manufacture. This may involve unloading deliveries.
  • Assemble into a complete product in accordance to job specific specifications and drawings.
  • Ensure the aesthetics of the product remain of the highest quality for the client.
  • Use manual handling equipment where required.
  • Prepare equipment for factory acceptance testing and complete appropriate paper work

General Duties

  • You must be able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
  • You must be able to work unsupervised and be self-motivated
  • A forklift license is an advantage.
  • Display a proactive attitude within the organisation with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems.
  • Recommend resources and training, to ensure that the organisation can meet future demands from its customers.
