Season’s Greetings
2021 saw the 30th birthday of Frontier-Pitts Ltd. We looked back at our history, achievements, and combined heritage of over 100 years. We are proud of the Perimeter Security and Hostile Vehicle Mitigation specialist we are today and look forward to Protecting Your World for decades to come.
This year started as just challenging as the last but again Frontier Pitts has risen to the challenge. We would like to take this opportunity to look back at 2021 and report on its positives, whilst also thanking our staff, suppliers, and agents around the World for all their continued hard work and support.
Research and Development certainly did not slow down in 2021. At the start, we successfully impact tested our Terra Lunar 180 Beam system, to cover Bridge Expansion Joints, to IWA14, 7.2t at 30mph with a 30-degree impact angle. This compliments our shallowest HVM Bollard System to date, with the inclusion of our Terra 180 Swing Arm Barrier beam to allow access through the static bollard line.
In April we also impact tested our latest model of Terra Blocker to IWA14, stopping 7.2t at 50mph which also resulted in an impressive zero penetration classification code. This is yet another great addition to our HVM Blocker range which has been designed to ease logistics challenges, specifically for our export market.
Hostile Vehicle Mitigation HVM
Our Platinum range of LPS1175 Gates and Turnstiles continued to grow as Architects and Consultants asked us to push the boundaries to create specific product solutions for their needs. We received approval for the first Bi-parting pair of LPS1175 Security Rated Sliding Gates, which can now secure a clear opening of up to 14m, ideal for our ever expanding list of Data centres and Logistic sites. Further elements of gates were also tested to give more choice to the Architects to also meet Secured by Design requirements.
More client requests saw another market first with the approval of the first LPS1175 Security Rated Turnstile on the market with a three-winged rotor (120 degree). We are particularly proud of this product as LPCB said it would be very difficult to achieve the four-winged rotor (90 degree), let alone the three-winged rotor (120 degree). To illustrate this, we also produced a video on how BRE’s LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) tested our turnstile. Although for most of the year we continued with successful virtual exhibitions and CPDs, in September we enjoyed getting back to some sort of normality with the start of in person exhibitions again. We had a successful International Security Expo and Fencex shows, catching up with lots of existing customers we had not actually seen face to face in a while, whilst also showcasing our latest product innovations.
Manufacturing, installations and PPM maintenance visits continued to be COVID safe and secure. Numerous export projects have been delivered around the World with all our branches and agents continuing to support our customers on the ground. We would like to thank all our staff and agents for all their hard work and support this year
