Road Blocker

The Security Height Road Blockers has lift height options of 353mm & 533mm, with widths up to 5m.

Road Blockers provide higher levels of security with built in stopping power, and are used extensively for premises such as banks, embassies, bullion depots, cargo parks, ports and lorry parks.

100% duty rating – designed for continuous and frequent use. Power is supplied from a three phase 400V power supply as standard.

The Road Blocker can be interfaced to any access control systems. Traffic Light System included as standard. It is recommended that the Road Blocker’s hydraulic control cabinet is installed within 10metres of the blocker.

  • Construction: The blocking segment shall be constructed of heavy steel section with steel front plate and covers
  • Finish: Shotblasted, hot zinc sprayed (galvanised), primed and finished with a final coat of polyurethane paint. Client to advise RAL paint number. Alternative finishes available on request. Frontier Pitts Special Lifetime Paint; an anti-slip paint for road vehicles available on request.
  • Options: Accumulator – allows a number of operations in power failure mode, EFO(Extra Fast Operation), Manual Hand pump, High Security Cabinet, Anti-tamper alarms
  • Accessories Included: Industrial hydraulic pump drive unit, Motor protection, Security lock on cabinet door, Instantly Reversible, Override Switch, Switched fused supply, Mains indicator lamp, Reinforced hoses for long service life, Long life hydraulic seals

Traffic Light System

 Traffic Light systems are highly recommended to be installed with all road blocker and bollard systems to advise all users of its position. 100mm traffic light head can be pole or mounted on control cabinet

Manual Handpump

 In the event of a power failure, a hand pump/release can be provided to enable the manual raising and lowering of the blocker/bollard.

Vehicle Detector Loops

 Vehicle detector loops installed beneath the road surface to detect vehicles. This will prevent the automatic equipment from closing on a vehicle within the aperture. Safety induction loops cut into the road surface. This will prevent the gate from closing on a vehicle within the aperture.

Safety Photocells

 Safety Photocells produce beams of light which cross the road way to monitor vehicle and pedestrian movement. If an object breaks this beam, the automatic equipment will stop & reverse. On gate installations, two pairs of photocells are usually fitted. Ultra Sonic Sensors are also available.

Stainless Steel Cabinet

 As standard, the road blockers/bollards control cabinet is shotblasted and finish with a final coat of polyurethane paint. However a Stainless Steel finish is also available as an option.
