Port Talbot Automatic Barriers

Port Talbot Steelworks is a steel mill in Port Talbot, Wales. It is the largest steelworks in the United Kingdom and one of the largest in the world. Over 4,000 people worked at the plant until the last blast furnace closed in October 2024. Around 2,000 employees remain after this time, processing imported steel slabs to produce rolled steel products.The mill is in the process of building a 320-ton capacity electric arc furnace which would be operational in late 2027.

Port Talbot Steelworks is an integrated steel production plant in West Glamorgan, Wales, capable of producing nearly 5 million tonnes of steel slab per annum, making it the largest of all three major steel plants in the UK and one of the largest in Europe.

With boom lengths of up to 9 metres, Frontier Pitts FB model of Automatic Barrier was the perfect solution. The torque motor barriers have 100% duty rating, instantly reversible and constantly energised, which provides security locking and protection against low temperatures and damp conditions.
