Compact Terra Barriers securing the entrance of The Crystal Urban Sustainability Centre, Royal Victoria Docks, London

The Siemens Urban Sustainability Centre is one of the world’s largest interactive exhibitions on urban sustainability. It provides a space for community enjoyment as well as promoting education and learning in the fields of science, engineering, technology and sustainability. This new landmark, with is iconic building design in the heart of London’s docklands, will attract approximately 100,000 visitors every year.

PAS 68 Compact Terra Barrier at The Crystal

Frontier Pitts PAS 68 Compact Terra Barrier was the specified Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) access control solution as it met the threat level requirement – a hostile vehicle could not reach a higher speed of 30mph/48kph on approach as the landscape had been designed to combat this.The Compact Terra Barrier, which has been successfully impact tested to the latest BSi PAS 68:2010 specification, is also a subtle, aesthetically pleasing HVM solution that would not highlight the security issue to the local community.

Frontier Pitts project also included the installation of a high security cabinet rated to LPS 1175 Security Rating 2 to house all the controls, plus an HMI push button control station.
