Winston Churchill Avenue (the main road heading towards the land border with Spain) intersects the airport runway. Every time a plane lands, this road needs to be closed. FB Automatic Barriers are used as traffic control accomplish this closure.

The ‘FB’ Automatic Barrier is a rapid-action torque motor automatic barrier which can support longer boom lengths and has a 100% duty rating – the ideal solution for traffic control at an airport.

Gibraltar International Airport, previously known as North Front Airport, (IATA: GIB, ICAO: LXGB) is the civilian airport that serves the British overseas territory of Gibraltar.
