Frontier Pitts Rising Terra Bollards at Murrayfield Stadium
Like other Crowded Place venues, Stadiums require the right level of security to mitigate the terrorist threat whilst ensuring the venue remains functional.
Murrayfield Stadium, the home of Scottish Rugby Union, is located in the west end of Edinburgh, Scotland, and has a capacity of 67,000. The Stadium is primarily used as a venue for rugby union and hosts the Six Nations Championships and the Calcutta Cup, amongst other events.
As part of an HVM (Hostile Vehicle Mitigation) improvement program at the stadium, Frontier Pitts installed 4 no. Rising Terra Bollards on the entrance. The PAS 68 bollards operate simultaneously to mitigate the terrorist treat.
The Retractable Terra Bollards, installed with 1200mm gaps between upright faces to fulfil the BSi PAS 69:2013 specification, are hydraulically driven, finished with stainless steel sleeves and 100% duty rated.Frontier Pitts PAS 68 Bollards remained fully functional after impact test. This means in the event of a terrorist attack the heavy duty bollards would continue to operate in case of a follow up attack.
