How do BRE’s LPCB Attack Test a Security Turnstile?

LPCB LPS1175 Loss Prevention Standard

Requirements and testing procedures for the indepently tested, third party testing and approval by BRE’s LPCB and listing of intruder resistant building components, strongpoints, security enclosures and free-standing barriers

Frontier Pitts Ltd has become the first company to achieve LPS 1175 Issue 6 for their full height Terra Diamond Grade 3 and Grade 4 single rotor turnstiles. The turnstiles successfully resisted an intensive attack test programme in accordance with LPS 1175: Issue 6. These involved a series of attack tests each lasting at least 10 minutes using a wide array of hand tools and battery powered tools. The Terra Diamond turnstiles are the only turnstiles currently on the market that are approved to LPS 1175 Security Ratings 3 and 4.

Other Standards

EN 1630/EN 1627 RC1 to RC6

An EU standard for burglary resistance for building elements, including curtain walling. Similar toolset as LPS1175 SR5 but a longer attack/test period and tools are mains as opposed to battery powered. Testing of this option also indicated a ballistic resistance to EN1522 FB4

EN1627:2011
This standard is self certified and refers to the Burglar Resistance of Glazed Pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters, NOT gates. This should not be confused with the LPS1175 standard; Requirements and testing procedures for the LPCB approval and listing of intruder resistant building components, strongpoints, security enclosures and free-standing barriers
