Frontier Pitts Terra Automatic Rising Barrier has been successfully crash tested in accordance with BSI PAS 68:2007, stopping 7500kg travelling at 40mph (65kmph)

The Terra Automatic Rising Barrier, a vertically opened, reinforced boom, was crash tested in accordance with BSI PAS 68:2007 standards. The test was conducted to prove the arresting capability of the Terra Automatic Rising Barrier with a boom length of 4500mm, when impacted with a 7500kg test vehicle at a speed of 65km/hour (40mph). The BSI PAS 68: 2007 specification requirements are comparable to that required by the Department of State test standard SD-STD-2.01 K8 standard. Installation of the Terra Automatic Barrier is in line with BSI PAS 69:2007.

Following the highly successful crash tests involving the other certified equipment in the Anti Terra range, Frontier Pitts was confident that the Terra Automatic Barrier would also pass the toughest test and achieve the most difficult standard.
This impressive test result has not only proved the stopping power of this equipment, but also the reliability and fortitude of design.
The Terra Automatic Rising Barrier is available with a boom length up to 4500mm. A hydraulic motor operates the robust rising arm barrier boom which has a reinforced fixed end rest positioned at either end. In the closed position the boom can be securely locked using a powered magnetic locking bolt.
Key features of the Terra Automatic Rising Barrier include a range of operating speeds and secure magnetic locking. For added security full height swivel skirts or lower folding skirts can be mounted to the Terra Automatic Barrier beam. Other standard barrier accessories such as boom lights and signage are also available.
The Terra Automatic Rising Barrier requires minimal foundation depths of only 300mm, which can be deeper to reduce the surface area, suiting individual requirements.

The Terra Hydraulic Barrier, like all Frontier Pitts products are all designed, built and CE marked in the UK to the most stringent international standards. These tests have been witnessed by CPNI (Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure), previously NSAC (National Security Advice Centre) plus NICC; the UK Governments Advisory Body for Security.
