IWA 14 HVM Terra Shallow Blocker

The latest model of HVM Terra Blocker with Shallow Mount Technology, successfully impact tested to the new International IWA 14 specification stopping a 7.2t vehicle travelling at 80kph (50mph).

The test resulted in the vehicle being stopped with zero penetration. The Blocker remained fully functional after impact illustrating the outstanding protection the blocker can provide from the threat of VBIED’s (vehicle borne improvised explosive devices).

As a foundation type B, with an embedment depth of only 300mm required, the Shallow HVM Blocker offers protection to sites where minimal foundation depths are available.

The footprint and weight has been reduced by approximately 60% from its predecessor. The new shock absorber dampening springs are designed to absorb and damp shock impulses. This specialist system designed by Frontier Pitts converts the kinetic energy of the shock into other forms of energy which are then dissipated.

Simulated to stop 12t@ 80kph, the high carbon struts work on 3 axis and may allow the MKII blocker to be pre tested for energy absorption prior to delivery.

Hydraulically driven. Designed for ease of installation and maintenance. The Blocker can be interfaced to any access control systems. Traffic Light System included as standard.

The Terra Shallow Blockers top plate can be finished with Frontier Pitts Lifetime Paint; an anti skid resistant treatment which has been fully tested under laboratory conditions for at least 12 months.

Accumulator

High Security Cabinet

Provides high security protection to the control cabinet of Frontier Pitts PAS 68 Anti Terra product range. Special Security cabinets can be fitted and tested to BRE 1175 with 6 point security locking mechanism and fire resistance to DIN 4102. High security mauer key lock, Class A, ECBS/ENV 1300 approved, with similar rating to BS EN 1143-1 1997.

Manual Hand Pump

In the event of a power failure, a hand pump/release can be provided to enable the manual raising and lowering of the blocker/bollard.

Vehicle Detector Loops

Vehicle detector loops installed beneath the road surface to detect vehicles. This will prevent the automatic equipment from closing on a vehicle within the aperture. Safety induction loops cut into the road surface. This will prevent the gate from closing on a vehicle within the aperture.

Safety Photocells

Safety Photocells produce beams of light which cross the road way to monitor vehicle and pedestrian movement. If an object breaks this beam, the automatic equipment will stop & reverse. On gate installations, two pairs of photocells are usually fitted. Ultra Sonic Sensors are also available.

Flashing Beacon

Flashing Beacons provide a visual warning that the automatic equipment is in operation.

Sounder

Sounders/Audible Alarms provide an audible warning that the automatic equipment is in operation.

Anti Skid Paint

The Terra Blocker's Top Plate can be fully coated with an anti skid resistant treatment which has been fully tested under laboratory conditions for at least 12 months
