Electrical Systems Engineer

This varied role entails production of electrical drawings, programming PLC control systems; interfacing and commissioning of OEM equipment, remedial work on faults, and responding to technical queries from both internal and external customers.

The successful applicant will have a strong background in Electronic/Electrical Engineering including operational experience of electrical machines, basic mechanical and electrical fitting, circuit / schematic diagram interpretation, and fault finding on PLC’s

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with a flexible approach to the role. Based in Sussex, the position also involves some travel throughout the UK (sometimes at short notice).

Key Skills:

  • System Engineer
  • Provide technical back up to both Frontier Pitts on site engineers and customers.
  • Carry out circuit design and drawings
  • Carry out PLC programming for bespoke projects
  • Carry out final commissioning of products prior to despatch.
  • Liaise with Customers/Operations Dept, providing assistance with special projects.
  • Liaise with suppliers, ensuring products meet our specification
  • As required, make site visits for ongoing problems or installations of non standard equipment.
  • Flexibility to carry out tasks, as required by Department head.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (but not essential).
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • A good telephone manner.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming (but not essential)
  • Able to prioritise.

Fitters

Due to our fast expanding business, Frontier Pitts is looking for multiple Fitters to be based at our Crawley HQ to work on high security Gates, Barriers, Bollard, Blockers and Turnstiles. 

The Fitters are responsible for the final assembly of the Security Equipment in accordance to assembly drawings issued by the Drawing Office.

  • Collate materials required to complete Bespoke Product manufacture. This may involve unloading deliveries.
  • Assemble into a complete product in accordance to job specific specifications and drawings.
  • Ensure the aesthetics of the product remain of the highest quality for the client.
  • Use manual handling equipment where required.
  • Prepare equipment for factory acceptance testing and complete appropriate paper work

General Duties

  • You must be able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
  • You must be able to work unsupervised and be self-motivated
  • A forklift license is an advantage.
  • Display a proactive attitude within the organisation with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems.
  • Recommend resources and training, to ensure that the organisation can meet future demands from its customers.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate with all levels of personnel


Three positions available include:

  • Experienced Fitter for evening shift
  • Trainee Fitter for evening shift
  • Experienced Fitter for day shift


Working Hour Shifts:

Monday to Friday - 07.30 to 14.30
Monday to Friday - 14.00 to 22.00

Electromechanical Production Operative

Due to our fast expanding business, Frontier Pitts is looking for a Electromechanical Production Operative to be based at our Crawley HQ.

Responsibilities 

  • Working from drawings to electrically build products. You will be given the relevant parts and drawings, and will work autonomously to complete the product to customer specifications, alerting the supervisor to any issues.
  • Ability to manufacture to a high standard
  • High attention to detail and ability to inspect own work
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workplace.

Essential skills 

  • Must have previous mechanical assembly experience
  • Must be able to read electrical & mechanical drawings
  • Must have a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Willing to work day and late shifts pro rota.

Desirable 

  • Experience of wiring panels
  • Experience of high voltage
  • Experience of access control systems
  • Experience of hydraulic systems

Maintenance Contracts Administrator

Frontier Pitts take After Sales care very seriously and are seeking an enthusiastic, self motivated and adaptable candidate to be our Maintenance Contracts Administrator. 

This is an ideal opportunity for a school leaver or Graduate. You will have excellent organisational and customer service skills for this full time position, with a desire to achieve monthly targets. The role requires telephone customer interaction to send out and follow up quotations whilst general administration duties.

Essential Criteria:-

  • Ability to deliver first class level of customer service
  • Knowledge and Experience of CRM and Microsoft packages, with good analytical skills.

Annual salary will be based on experience with the potential to earn commission after a probationary period.

Experienced Supervisory Wireman

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Candidate will need to wire control panels to electrical circuit diagrams
  • Wire the panel in the product, test and sign the job off to the specification
  • Work as part of a team as well as be able to work on their own to get the products completed within the lead time.
