SPECIFICATION - DUTYMAN ACTUATORS

 

 

The Frontier-Pitts 'Dutyman' actuator is a reliable, electro-mechanical unit which may be supplied with any type of hinged gate. It may also be fitted to existing hinged gates. The geometry of the actuating arms is carefully designed to optimise the gate's operation. This geometric design ensures that the gate-leaf reaches maximum speed in mid-travel, whilst slowing toward the extreme positions.  This assists gate operation and reduces the wear on the drive components. The geometry of the actuating arms also serves to produce torque multiplication at the end of travel, thereby controlling the gate-leaf in these areas and producing a natural 'locking' effect.
